EXTENSION CUP 194 (A) E (B), SEAFARMS WEST AQUACULTURE
Michael, as we recently discussed, the Regional Water Quality Control Board
is considering citing the City, Encina WPCF and the City of Oceanside due
to the high level of coliform found in shellfish grown at the subject operation.
I would not recommend extension of the CUP until the extent and source of
the health hazards have been fully explored and appropriate operational ad-
justments can be conditioned.
Along with site plans, the applicant should be required to submit an eval-
uation of the health hazards associated with the site,
health hazards and a financial statement indicating their current investment
and annual financial statements.
