The acquisition of properties and construction of new facilities for each Branch has been a prime objective. Property has been purchased in Escondido, El Cajon and Carlsbad. A new facility was constructed in Escondido and it is the intent to construct a similar facility on this newly acquired parcel in Carlsbad. Efforts to relocate operations from the existing inadequate facilities at 2520 State Street were unsuccessful in 1978 when the Coastal Comnission would not allow adequate development bf another parcel on Paseo Del Norte to meet minimum requirements. The facility will rent small to medium size construction equipment which will be stored in the enclosed yard. Building will contain offices and a shop where equipment will be serviced for re-rental . Only minor repairs to equipment will be made here as major repair work is done at the main facilities in San Diego.
