Plan and Profile of San Marcos Creek INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION The following report represents the hydraulic analysis for the effects of the La Costa Employee Parking Lot on San Marcos Creek. This report also reflects the effects of the future La Costa Laundry Facility on the water surface elevations of San Marcos Creek. A comparison between existing and proposed water surface elevation can be seen in Table 1. This HEC-2 study covers an estimated 900 feet of San Marcos Creek. The site is located east of El Camino Real and south of Costa Del Mar Road in the City of Carlsbad. Determination of appropriate roughness coefficients and cross- section locations were based on the HEC-2 report entitled "La Costa Hotel Expansion" completed by Rick Engineering Company, January 30, 1985. The design discharge for the project was chosen to be the lOO-year frequency discharcje. This value, 12,000 cfs was obtained from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (April 1971) "Floodplain Information for San Marcos Creek". The lOO-year starting water surface elevation used in this report was taken from the HEC-2 report entitled "La Costa Hotel Expansion" completed by Rick Engineering Company, January 30, 1985. The water surface within San Marcos Creek decreases up to approximately 0.9 foot due to the proposed improvements.
