Dear Mr. Olinghouse:
This is in response to your telephone call of June 10, 1968, at
which time you indicated that there will be a public hearing June 25
with regard to conditional use permit for a post office across the
street from the Pine School.
The postmaster had previously talked to me about this, and I
indicated to him that a post office in that location would generate
a considerable amount of traffic along Harding Street adjacent to the
school property. This would certainly be hazardous to the children
attending school there. It is my opinion that this would not be a
good location for a post office.
I will place this item on the agenda for school board discussion
on June 24, 1968, and will deliver a letter to your office on June 25
regarding the official position of the school board so that you may
have that information at the time of the public hearing.
