Mr. Chairman and Members
I am a businessman in Carlsbad and have been for seventeen years.
Believe me, I am vitally interested in what is good for Carlsbad.
I want to commend the Planning Commission and the City Council for
their action in encouraging the location and construction of the Carlsbad
Racexay. This installation is an asset to the community for several
reasons.

Mr. Belond, who built this track, now wishes to bring another type of
racing to this area with the result of even greater commerce and greater
publicity for Carlsbad. But you members of this Commission seem to be
throwing a road block (as the newspaper calls it) to Mr. Belond's plans.
I can't understand your thinking along this line.
Raceway is for the good of Carlsbad and I thought the Planning Commission
