Jason's restaurant located at the Poinsettia Shopping Center, Carlsbad, California. I wish to comment and extend my personal thanks for making the Carlsb2d Raceway possible. The Raceway has brought in an influx of avid sports fans from all parts of the country which has given Carlsbad not only state but nationwide recognition. It has brought business not only to the local merchants but to the vicinity in general. Our tourist trade will also benefit from the nationwide publicity this Race- way has received. As this is a sport for all ages our youth will also benefit. Xnthusiastic si3ort fans will have no time for malicious mischief so the raceway may help to cut down on juvenile delinquency. I also wish to point out that any tyL3e of sport which is non- alone and thenfore uf a desirable element. Many of the spectators, drivers and their familizs eat at Nr. Jason's, all people that we would happy to have as permanent residents of Garlsbad if possible. wagering can only brii?g in spectators interested in the sport 'The location of the Kaceway wes well planned and no Low or city should have cause to complain of any disturnace from this area. I live at Shelter Cove ( a short distance away) and bve never heard any noise from this area. I underskand that Mr. Beland xishes to bring another type of racing to this aye3 which is now being opnosed by members of' this comiission. 1 think that this type of racing would definitely be an asset to Carlsbad, There has and will always be opposition to any new idea or venture when first introduced to a town. I: do hope that you will give this mat,er careful consideration and the decision will be the green light for PIP. Belonds new venture, Harry iiosenberg
