Gentlemen:
The undersigned, Russell L. Thibodo, Margaret J. Thibodo, Roger Meisinger and Marilyn Meisinger,individually, and Russell L. Thibodo and Marilyn Meisinger in their capacity as Trustees of the trust
created by the Will of Frank E. Thibodo, deceased, and also in
their capacity as guardians for their respective minor children,
hereby protest the application submitted by Carlsbad Raceway Cor-
poration for a conditional use permit to amend its present condi-
tional use permit to allow on-sale beer and to extend theJime limit on said permit for a period of ten years.
The undersigned, individually and in the fiduciary capacities indi- . cated,own approximately 1,600 acres of land, a portion of which immediately adjoins the Carlsbad Raceway. The undersigned believe
that the operation of said raceway has effectively foreclosed any development of their property to a higher and better use than that to which the same is presently adopted. The undersigned are further convinced that said raceway operation has a most serious detrimental and adverse effect upon the value of all real property in its imme- diate vicinity and will effectively prevent the development of all of such property to the various types of highest and best use to which such property would otherwise in time be developed were it
not for the operation of said raceway.
