Although I will be happy to place this matter on the City Council agenda, I don't believe our time will be best served. The proper method for processing a change of zone is to make an application through the Planning Department, this appli- cation is then heard by the Plaaning Commission for their recommendation Lo the 3 ty Council. The City Council makes the final decision at their public hearing. Regardless of the process, I see no reason for th2 request. The City of Carlsbad's zone ordinance does not at this time include a recreational commercizl zone as you requested. Although the General Plan designates the area 8s recreational/ commercial, the city presently uses the C-2 zone to implcrnenis this land use category. Therefore, the C-2 zone is a compatible zone with the General Plan and the present land use. Since there seems to be some confusion on this matter, I would appreciate meeting with you to discuss your htentions in more detail so that you can be directed to make the proper application if one is necessary.
