RE: Carlsbad Raceway, Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad
Dear Mr.Grismer:
As a result of a complaint, on May 2, 1983, Mr. Walker, Sanitarian, and
Mr. Bothast, Senior Sanitarian, inspected the restroom facilities at the
Carlsbad Raceway, Palmar Airport Road, Carlsbad. They found that both
the men's and women's restroom facilities were in poor repair and improperly
maintained. The walls were in poor repair, screens for outside openings
were tom or missing, toilets were plugged and non-functional, there were
no towels or hot water for hand washing and the facilities were dirty.
Also, five chemical toilets at the site were dirty and overflowing, and
there was trash on the ground.
The California Health & Safety Code and the Carlsbad Municipal Code in
reference to the San Diego County Code, require that the restrooms be
maintained in a sanitary manner. This letter is to serve as an Official
Notice to repair the walls, toilets and screens, clean the facilities and
to provide single service towels and hot as well as cold water at the rest-
rooms. Also, all chemical toilets are to be properly maintained, and
trash and debris is to be properly confined.
A re-check for compliance will be made on or about June 10, 1983. This
department cannot recommend to the City of Carlsbad approval for your
continued operations without your proper maintenance of the restroom
facilities. It is your responsibility to make whatever provisions are
necessary to keep your restrooms sanitary during each of your events.
If you have any questions, please call me at 236-2243.
Very truly yours ,
, , ..
.I
