Dear Ron :
You have indicated your desire to expend an equivalent amount of money on a traffic island fronting your de- velopment in lieu of constructing a sidewalk. In ad- dition, you wish to place the street lights in the traf- fic islands, landscape, provide a wat'er system, and main- tain the traffic islands at your expense.
The engineering and planning staffs have expressed their concurrence with your idea of the landscaped traffic island as outlined above.
It would be proper to have your engineer proceed with the design of the traffic island in conjunction with your stan- dard improvement drawings to be approved by the City Engi- neer. May I suggest that this be a top priority with your engineer working with the County and City staffs.
