Re: Use of house at 2030 Chestnut Avenue by the Pilgrim
Congregat i onal Church
We are happy to support the use of the above mentioned house
by Pilgrim Church.
We have 1 ived in a house directly behind this house for over
27 years. In that time we have had many different
"ne i ghbors" over the back fence.
Since the church took over using the property, we have had
absolutely no problems. At some times in the past we have
had noisy dogs and children, and have often had things
thrown over the fence. Since the church started using the
property, we have noted how quiet the use is.
Last winter when the church used the property for the
home1 ess she1 ter program, there were no not i cab1 e
differences. We thought it was a fine part of the church's
outreach in trying to provide some positive solution to a
very difficult problem in San Diego county. The more
home-1 ike atmosphere made a positive impression on the
people housed there during those weeks of winter.
Church use of the property actual ly makes le55 traffic than
did residential use because most of the people attending
meetings there use the parking lot on Monroe Street.
The property is being well maintained both inside and out,
and the yard is well cared for.
We fully support the use of the property by the church as
consistent with our neighborhood.
Sincerely,
