Dear Dwight:
I just learned from the Carlsbad Planning Department that you have
been in touch with that office raising concerns about our Children's
Center. I understand that you indicated that you hadn't heard from
us which leaves me a little puzzled.
The officers of the church would be glad to meet with you and talk
further about your concerns. As you recall, when you first raised your
concerns with me over the telephone, I immediately scheduled a
meeting with several of our top officers on September 3, 1996. I at-
tempted to summarize the results of that meeting in a memo which I
sent to you and all of those who had been present. In that memo, I
emphasized that we had all agreed that you would phone our Facili-
ties Coordinator, Jill Thurlow, or leave messages on our answering
machine about any further disturbances. Since you have not con-
tacted Jill Thurlow even once since then, we assumed that all was
going well.
Then when you wrote in January requesting another meeting "to
bring this issue to a close," I scheduled such a meeting for February 6,
1997. You phoned me to cancel that meeting. saying that it was not
convenient for you, and I understood you to say you would get back
in touch with me about an appropriate time for the meeting to be re-
scheduled. I have not heard from you since.
Our ofricers continue to be ready to meet with you and talk about
any concerns you may have. We have altempted to take the spe-
cific sieps that were outlined in the memorandum following our first
meeting and so I am not quite sure what your new concerns are.
Please let me know if you would like to meet with our church officers
once again and I will schedule such a meeting as soon as possible.
