Robert Nielsen, Chair
Planning Commission, City of Carlsbad
2075 Las’Palmas Drive
Carlsbad, CA 92009
Dear Chairman Nielsen:
I am writing as parent and member of the Carlsbad community with children that go to Carlsbad High, Magnolia
Elementary and Pilgrim Children’s Center.
This month, it was brought to the parent’s attention that Pilgrim Children’s Center will hm to go before the Planning
Commission on July 2nd to reconsider their Conditional Use Permit. I am greatly alarmed that the proposition will financially
impact the school in such a way that the Church would have to reconsider the operation of the Center.
Consider this ... for 23 years Pilgrim Children’s Center has send the community of Carlsbad by ofiring a unique mutti-
faith, multi-racial preschool with an extensive scholarship program for low-income families. So many of our families who are
actix in the community and care about this city have children that haw started their education at Pilgrim and progressed to
the other schools.
In reconsidering the Center‘s Conditional Use Permit, I implore the Planning Commission to take whatewr measures
necessary so as to not create unnecessary hardships for Pilgrim Children’s Center, so that our children may continue to reap
the benefits of such a fine and wonderful school.
Sincerely yours,
Trisha Drennan
