Dear MI-. Con1pas:
I ani a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, and I mil writing
to express my concern regarding your upconling reconsiderdtion of
the Conditional LJse Perniit for the Children's Center of Pilgrim
Church. I am sad that this conflict has arisen and I am hopeful that it
can be resolved in a manner that is fair and just both to our neighbor
and to our Children's Center.
I am proud of the respectful way in which Pilgrim Children's Center
and my church have responded to our neighbor's complaint, and I
consider it a model of cooperation and willingness to find a solution
which serves everyone concerned. We took note of what actions we
needed to take and we took thein. as promised. b7e urged our
neighbor to let us know of any incident of noise at night due to
cleaning and maintaining the center. Since our neighbor made no
calls in the following three months, we can only conclude that night
noise was no longer a problem. We have resolved this in good faith.
Our Children's Center is a wonderful place dedicated to educating aid
nurturing the children of our coiiiiiiunity in a creative, positive,
challenging and respectful way. We sene families of all faiths.

unique, excellent beginning available to children fioiii lowincome
families ivho could not otherwise attend.
We remain williiig and eager to do our part to work with our
neighbor and respect our neighbor's rights. 1Ve owe our neighbor
cooperation, consideration and e17eiy reasonable effort to resolve this
issue. M7e also deserve consideration of our responsible actions to
resol\-e this problem, and our resources as a sn~ll institution
