The purpose of the amendment is to permit us to construct a 2,260 square foot, single story addition to our existing office building. of the contracting portion of our business. Although the addition rep- resents a 70% increase in square footage of our main office building, it represents 32% increase in the total square feet of existing office space we presently have for the conduct of our business. The addition is necessary due to expansion A copy of the above referenced permit is appended to this letter and you will notice that the permit specifically allows an office building. Further, the approximately seventy-five (75) acres on which the proposed addition is to be located, was zoned M at the time the permit was granted. This M zone is still in effect. A review of the zoning ordinance for the M zone will show that this zone permits the construction of office buildings so long as the proper set-backs and side-yards are observed. In this case the proposed addition is over 500 feet from the public street, Haymar Drive, and over 800 feet from either property line. Attached to this letter are the necessary exhibits and maps in order that the Planning Commission may review the entire parcel as well as the proposed addition.
