General security for employees and patrons. General security for residents. Consideration of traffic flow congestion. Surveillance Residential - There is no natural surveillance into the proposed residential project. this complex is to be built, it should be designed with several things in mind. 1) The units should be designed so as to provide internal surveillance to the complex. Residents should be able to see where the vehicles are parked from an activity area inside their unit. also be able to view high activity areas such as mail boxes, trash receptacles, and laundry rooms. All units should be equipped with appropriate security hardware on windows and doors. 2) Lighting, and landscaping should all be designed with surveillance in mind. 3) Laundry rooms should be placed in areas of high vision and activity and should be equipped with appropriate security hardware. 4) Access to the complex should be at a minimum for both vehicular traffic and foot traffic. If Units should I Commercial - There is no natural surveillance into the proposed commercial project. - If this project is to be built, it should be done so with keeping several things in mind. 1) The complex needs to be designed so as to provide it’s own natural surveillance. 2) Lighting and landscaping should be designed to reduce criminal activity especially in the hours of darkness. 3) Buildings should be designed using all appropriate security hardware. 4) Consideration should be given to the installation of an alarm system and also private security. 5) The parking area should be designed for surveillance and safety utilizing landscaping,and lighting. The walking trail will encourage activity to the convenience stores from the residential buildings all hours of the day and night. They will be walking through an area with no natural surveillance. There is a potential personal safety problem for the people following this pattern. The convenience stores will also cause traffic congestion in an already congested area.
