Dear Mr, Coleman,
This Interim report is designed to provide you with data of our focused surveys as it becomes
available from our field biologists. Final biological reports will be sent to you at the completion
of the suweys.

P&D has completed the early spring surveys on the bluff habitat. Summer-holly, Del Mat
manzanita, and wart-stemmed ceanothus were observed within the chaparral habitat on the bluff,
Neither Brodieae species, San Diego goldenstars, Harpagonella nor San Diego thornmint were
observed on the bluffs. No sensitive species were observed within the area of direct impact to
the bluff, Corethrogyne was also observed onsite, however, this species is still not in bloom
and species identification will be conducted in mid July. Surveys will atso be conducted for the
Encinitas Baccharis at that time. The vegetation mapping has been completed. A final
vegetation map of the bluff area will be provided to you by June 20, 1993.

Surveys have been initiated fAr the California gnatcatcher ort the bluffs. mtese surveys are
being conducted within appropriate habitat for the species, however the $reas dominated by
California sagebrush and black sage are on steep slopes or at the lower elevation of the'bluffs.
No additional pairs or individuals of California gnatcatchers since the last report have been
observed onsite. Two more surveys will be conducted for this species.

No least Bell's vireo or other state or federally listed species have been observed within the riparian habitat onsi te.
