Dear Christer:
This letter is in response to your letter dated May 15, 1995 regarding general information on
the new high school in south Carlsbad as it relates to the Cumulative Impacts Section of the
Green Valley Environmental Impact Report. The new high school (as yet not named) is
located on 88 gross acres, 57 net acres with a projected enrollment of 2,000 students in
grades 9-12. Depending upon the success of the San Dieguito Academy, the new high
school could have an enrollment as high as 2,600 students in grades 9-12. -
Regarding environmental concerns, The Planning Center conducted an EIR for the San
Dieguito Union High School District on the high school site in 1987-88. The following factors
were considered in the EIR:
(1 ) Land Use/Relevant Planning (7) Light and Glare
(2) Traffice and Circulation (8) Drainage and Hydrology
(3) Air Quality (9) Biological Resources
(4) Noise (I 0) Paleontological and Cultural
(5) Earth Resources Resources
(E) Landform and Aesthetics (1 1) Public Services
The Environmental Impact Report is available for review at our District Office located at 710
