HomeMy WebLinkAboutLCPA 00-01; Carlsbad Boulevard Tamarack Zone Change; Local Coastal Program Amendment (LCPA)City of Carlsbad PUBLIC NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES: Please be advised that the City of Carlsbad is considering map amendments to its Local Coastal Program (LCP) as summarized below. This amendment is being proposed by the City of Carlsbad and is currently under review. This notice hereby opens a six week review period after which the Planning Commission and City Council will consider all comments and act on the proposed amendment. The Planning Commission hearing is expected to take place in September 2000, and will be duly noticed. The City Council hearing is expected to take place in October 2000, and will be duly noticed. Copies of the LCP amendment are available for review at the following locations: (1) Carlsbad Planning Department, 1635 Faraday Avenue; (2) City Clerk’s Office, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive; (3) Carlsbad Main Library, 1775 Dove Lane; (4) Georgina Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive; and (5) the California Coastal Commission District Office, 3111 Camino De1 Rio North, Suite 200, San Diego. PROPOSED LCP AMENDMENT SUMMARY LCPA 00-01 - Carlsbad Boulevard/Tamarack Zone Change The City’s Zoning Ordinance is the implementing ordinance for the City’s Local Coastal pr0gWl-l. Accordingly, this Local Coastal Program Amendment is necessary to ensure consistency between its proposed amended Zoning Ordinance and its Local Coastal Program. This specific Zone Code Amendment is as follows: Change the Local Coastal Program zoning designation of three contiguous properties from general commercial (C-2) to multiple-family residential (R-3) and Beach Area Overlay Zone (BAOZ). The properties are at 3862 and 3878 Carlsbad .Boulevard, between Tamarack and Redwood Avenues (Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 204-253-13, 14, and 20). As proposed, the zoning designations would be consistent with the properties’ existing Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan designation of Residential High Density (RI-I).
