SUBJECT CONSULTATIONS WITH COASTAL STAFF FOR THE CARLSBAD
RANCH/LEGOLAND PROJECT - SP 207(A)/LCPA 90-08(B)
Dear Lauren:
The City of Carlsbad is requesting your assistance on the Carlsbad Ranch/LEGOlAND
Specific Plan Amendment Project as it moves forward for Coastal Commission review.
As you are aware the Carlsbad City Council approved the project on January 9, 1996.
The City of Carlsbad will submit the Local Coastal Program Amendment application for
the project on January 23, 1996. The project applicant will concurrently submit an
application for a Coastal Development Permit which will authorize the Master Tentative
Map and grading approval.
One of the City's primary objectives in 'asking for your assistance is to assure that all
parties have an opportunity to discuss the project and have a thorough understanding
of the details of the project. This will also allow for all parties to discuss any issues the
Coastal Staff may identify well in advance of the preparation of a staff report to the
Coastal Commission.
