Pursuant to Section '143553 of the Commission's Administrative Regulations, the Executive Di rector has reviewed the transmittal for Carl sbad Ranch and determined it to be in proper order and legally adequate to comply with the requirements of Pub1 i c Resources Code Section 30510(b). Therefore, this item is deemed properly submitted. assigned the following title: Local Coastal Program Amendment 1-96 (Carlsud Ranch). For future reference, this item has been The submittal involves an amendment to the Mello I1 Land Use Plan and Implementation Plan; the amendment has been classified as a major amendment. As a major amendment, the Coastal Commission has 90 days to review a land use plan revision or 60 days to review an implementation plan modification. Therefore, the amendment has been scheduled for Commission review at its April 9-12 meeting. Once the actual agenda is set for the meeting, you will receive a more specific notice for the time and date of the public hearing. This office will keep you informed as we continue our staff review on this amendment request. The planner who will be reviewing this item is Bill Ponder. On a related note, Coastal Development Permit No. 6-96-9 for the master subdivision, mass grading and installation of infrastructure improvements at the Carlsbad Ranch is also complete and scheduled for the April meeting.
