On various dates, this office received separate amendment requests to the
Carlsbad LCP; the requests addressed proposed density bonuses to accommodate
affordable housing opportunities; an amendment to the West Batiqui tos
Lagoon/Sammis LCP segment to revise its permitted land uses and incorporate
the Poinsettia Shores Master Plan and an amendment to the East Batiquitos
LagoonIHunt and Me110 I LCP segments to revise the Aviara Master Plan for its Phase I11 development area. Pursuant to Section 13553 of the California Code of Regulations, the Executive Director has reviewed the transmittals and determined them to be in proper order and legally adequate to comply with the requirements of Pub1 i c Resources Code Section 30510(b). the amendment package addressing the Poinsettia Shores Master Plan and its related LCP revisions, the other amendment requests were filed the date of their receipt and the Poinsettia Shores item was ultimately deemed filed on February 26, 1994.
With the exception of
Pursuant to the Coastal Act provisions for review and action on LCP amendments and the City's written request that these items all be processed as one
amendment package, the Commission did grant a one year time extension for
reviewing these amendments at its April hearing. Consistent with the City's
request, the amendment package has been tentatively scheduled for Commission
review at its May 10-13, 1994 hearing in Los Angeles. Once the actual agenda is set for the meeting, you will receive a more specific notice for the time and date of the public hearing.
This office will keep you informed as we continue our staff review on this
amendment request.
