At the suggestion of Coastal staff, on January 16, 1997, the City agreed to withdraw the Grading Ordinance Amendment LCPA 96-08 for the purpose of providing additional time for Coastal staff to review the Grading Ordinance and provide comments to the City. As of this date, the City of Carlsbad has yet to receive any formal written response from Coastal staff on either the Grading or the Hillside Ordinance LCPA's. These important implementing ordinances are a high priority for the City of Carlsbad. Accordingly, we .request that the Coastal Commission staff provide the City detailed written comments on the proposed LCPA's. Subsequent to this, and in the event that there are issues, we will schedule meetings as necessary to discuss and resolve such issues. Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns, please call me at (760) 727-6284, extension 4445.
