SUBJECT: CARLSBAD LCPA 1-98 - AVIARA PHASE 111 NORTH
Dear S herilyn:
Attached are the City Council actions taken on July 21, 1998, accepting the
Coastal Commission’s suggested modifications for the Aviara Phase 111 North
Local Coastal Program Amendment. The text of the modifications is contained in
the City Council Ordinance No. NS-453 and includes additional language
regarding fire suppression for Planning Area 18 and trails for Planning Area 19.
Also attached is a composite map showing all development surrounding
Planning Area 19. Since Planning Area 19 is completely surrounded by
development, it does not border any native habitat areas and, therefore, no fire
suppression zones are needed. Accordingly, the suggested modifications
regarding fire suppression regulations for Planning Area 19 were not
recommended or adopted.
The second reading of the City Council Ordinance will occur on July 28, 1998. A
signed copy of the City Council Ordinance will be forwarded to you for your files.
