Dear Gary:
Thank you for you and your staffs hard work to help achieve the July 1 1,2000 California Coastal
Commission approval of the Local Coastal Program (LCPA) Amendment for the Kelly Ranch.
With the approval of the LCPA, your early scheduling of the Suggested Modifications and the issues of
Substantial Conformance on the City Council agenda is requested. As you know, it is our common goal
to start the project grading and commence construction on the completion of Cannon road in October
2000. In order to meet this important construction schedule, it will be necessary to have the City Council
hear the Suggested Modifications and Substantial Conformance issues before the California Coastal
Commission’s September hearing scheduled September 10 through September 13.
We are currently coordinating with the city Engineering Department on the Substantial Conformance
issue and, of course, are ready to assist the City however we may, to help achieve this vitally important
schedule.
Your consideration in expediting the processes to achieve the earliest City Council date possible will be
appreciated.
