TO INTERESTED PARTIES:
Please be advised that the City of Carlsbad is considering text amendments to its Local Coastal
Program (LCP) as summarized below. This amendment is being proposed by Brehm
Communities and is currently under review. This notice hereby opens a six week review period
after which the Planning Commission and City Council will consider all comments and act on
the proposed amendment. The Planning Commission hearing is expected to take place in
December 1998, and will be duly noticed. The City Council hearing is expected to take place in
January or February 1999, and will be duly noticed.
Copies of the LCP amendment are available for review at the following locations: (1) Carlsbad
Planning Department, 2075 Las Palmas Drive; (2) City Clerkâs Office, 1200 Carlsbad Village
Drive; (3) Carlsbad Main Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive; (4) La Costa Branch Library,
6949 El Camino Real, Suite 200; and (5) the California Coastal Commission District Office,

PROPOSED LCP AMENDMENT SUMMARY
LCPA 97-10 - Brindisi Planning Area 19
The Aviara Master Plan serves as the implementing ordinance for a portion of the Mello I
Segment of the Local Coastal Program. Therefore, the proposed amendment to the Aviara
Master Plan also constitutes an amendment to the Local Coastal Program. The proposed
amendment addresses revisions to development standards (setbacks, etc.) established for
Planning Area 19 in the Aviara Master Plan
