As a follow-up to our phone conversation today, this letter is intended to reaffirm the City’s request
to separate the CommercialNisitor-Serving Overlay Zone, ZCA 98-0 1/ZC 99-03LCPA 98-05, from
the balance of the current LCPA batch if necessary to accommodate Coastal Commission staffs
current workload situation. The urgency ordinance governing the affected Overlay Zone properties
will expire on August 31, 1999, therefore it is the City’s desire to have the Coastal Commission
consider this item at the August 1999 hearings. That would allow the Overlay Zone to become
effective for coastal zone properties by September 1, 1999.
