HomeMy WebLinkAboutLCPA 98-05; Carlsbad Ranch Overlay Zone; Local Coastal Program Amendment (LCPA) (6)- City of Carlsbad PUBLIC NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES: Please be advised that the City of Carlsbad is considering text amendments to its Local Coastal Program (LCP) as summarized below. This amendment is being proposed by the City of Carlsbad and is currently under review. This notice hereby opens a six week review period after which the Planning Commission and City Council will consider all comments and act on the proposed amendment. The Planning Commission hearing is expected to take place on March 17, 1999, and will be duly noticed. The City Council hearing is expected to take place in May 1999, and will be duly noticed. Copies of the LCP amendment are available for review at the Carlsbad Planning Department, 2075 Las Palmas Drive. PROPOSED LCP AMENDMENT SUMMARY LCPA 98-05 - CARLSBAD RANCH OVERLAY ZONE The City’s Zoning Ordinance is the implementing ordinance for the City’s Local Coastal Program. Accordingly, this Local Coastal Program Amendment is necessary to ensure consistency between its proposed amended Zoning Ordinance and its Local Coastal Program. This specific Zone Code Amendment is as follows: The proposed zone code amendment and corresponding local coastal program amendment involves the addition of an overlay zone to the zoning ordinance which is intended to regulate future commercialhourist-serving uses located within a designated area around the Carlsbad Ranch Specific Plan which contains the Legoland theme park.
