PUBLIC NOTICE
TO INTERESTED PARTIES:
Please be advised that the City of Carlsbad is considering map amendments to its Local Coastal
Program (LCP) as surnmarized below. This amendment is being proposed by Standard Pacific
Corporation and is currently under review. This notice hereby opens a six week review period
after which the Planning Commission and City Council will consider all comments and act on
the proposed amendment. The Planning Commission hearing is expected to take place in
October, and will be duly noticed. The City Council hearing is expected to take place in
November, and will be duly noticed.
Copies of the LCP amendment are available for review at the following locations: (1) Carlsbad
Planning Department, 2075 Las Pahnas Drive; (2) City Clerk’s Office, 1200 Carlsbad Village
Drive; (3) Carlsbad Main Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive; (4) La Costa Branch Library,
6949 El Camino Real, Suite 200; and (5) the California Coastal Commission District Office,

PROPOSED LCP AMENDMENT SUMMARY
LCPA 98-09 - ROESCH PROPERTY SUBDIVISION
The City’s Zoning Ordinance is the implementing ordinance for the City’s Local Coastal
Program. Accordingly, this Local Coastal Program Amendment is necessary to ensure
consistency between its proposed amended Zoning Ordinance and its Local Coastal Program.
This specific Zone Change is as follows:
A zone change for the property to change the zoning from Limited Control (L-C) to One Family
Residential, 7,500 square foot minimum lot size, Qualified Overlay Zone (R-1-7,500-Q) and
Open Space (O-S) on a 27.7 acre parcel located north of Poinsettia Lane between Aviara
Parkway and Black Rail Road in the Mello II segment of the Local Coastal Program.
