CITY OF CARLSBAD - LCP AMENDMENT #1-2001
The City is in receipt of your letter dated May 3, 2001 regarding the City’s LCP Amendment package
#1-2001 submitted on April 20, 2001. That submittal was based on the LCP amendment submittal
requirements checklist on file with the Planning Department.
Five items are contained in the subject LCPA batch and are addressed in your letter: (1) Sign Ordinance,
(2) College Business Park, (3) Tabata, (4) Carlsbad Blvd zone change; and, (5) Buerger.
In response to your letter, the following is provided:
1. Sign Ordinance: withdrawn per City letter to your office dated June 18,200 1
2. College Business Park: same as above.
3. Tabata: the requested Council minutes have been provided previously via email by project
planner Van Lynch on May 8, 2001; two additional sets of the application were sent via letter on
May 11,2001.
4. Carlsbad Blvd. zone change: Staff planner Scott Donnell informed me that your office is not
pursuing the request made to provide a commercial study. We are pleased that you agree that the
zoning change will achieve consistency with the site’s general plan and existing local coastal
program designations (residential).
5. Buerger: your letter is in error with the statement that the Buerger site contains sensitive
resources. As reflected in the submitted package of April 20, 2001, the site has no sensitive
resources. Therefore, there are no applicable biological surveys or resource agency approvals.
Fire suppression information is contained in the landscape plans.
In addition to the responses above, three additional sets of information are forwarded for items # 4 and 5
above.
The City respectfully requests that the batch application be processed as efficiently as possible. The City
is preparing the submittal of this year’s second batch of LCP amendment. I can be reached at (760) 602-
