Dear Mike:
In response to the two Environmental Impact Reports that you
transmitted to us, we are forwarding the following comments.
Pacesetter Homes —
does not lie within our permit jurisdiction
Carlsbad Beach arid Tennis Club —
Of concern here would be:
1. The proximity of the development to both the beach
and especially the mouth of Agua Hedionda Lagoon.
If and when the project comes before the San Diego
Coast Regional Commission for a development permit,
the treatment of the interface between ocean, lagoon
mouth and development will be closely scrutinized
for probable undesirable environmental impacts, and;
2. Also, the cumulative impact of current local develop—
. ment trends, especially increases in density, on the
coastal environment and resources of this area, will
be of primary concern to the Commission,
Very truly yours,
Lei Gorfain
