Our prime objective is to conduct envi- ronmental research and analysis for utilization by the professional and governmental disciplines in their deci- sions and plans to improve man's place in his environment. The principals of Envicom in furthering this objective, emphasize a multidisci- plined approach and stress the interpre- tation and integration of environmental data in the planning processes. Envicom envicom ENVICOM PRINCIPALS RELATED EXPERIENCE CALIFORNIA DIVISION OF MINES AND GEOLOGY State Master Plan, Phase II Detailed analysis of potential geologic hazards for three micro-urban pilot study areas. Results indicated significant modification of Phase I methodology would be required. QUINTON BUDLONG Study program for investigation of slope stability, geology, soils, seismicity, flooding and groundwater conditions relevant to planning and environmental impact of a major utility company transmission lines and sub- stations in a one thousand (1000) square mile area in central California. QUINTON BUDLONG AND GRUEN ASSOCIATES Preparation of study design for North Los Angeles County General Plan. The Study outlined the physical science and environmental factors that would require evaluation and interpretation prior to the development of a master plan covering the three thousand, five hundred (3500) square mile study area. WESTLAKE VILLAGE Environmental and technical earth science studies for design of concept and master plans on a new four thousand, seven hundred (4700) acre residential community development. UNITED CALIFORNIA BANK Geologic/seismic investigations for proposed new branch bank office sites throughout California. NAPA COUNTY Environmental impact report on proposed one thousand (1000) acre second home planned recreational community in rural, Napa County. CITY OF TORRANCE Investigation of the risk of ground shaking, potential fault rupture and other earthquake hazards as the technical part of the City's General Plan Seismic Safety Element. SHELL CHEMICAL COMPANY Hydrologic and geologic investigation to isolate source of groundwater contamination and identify intercept techniques to extract comtaminated water. JOHNS Biography President Mr. Johns holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Geology from Arizona State University and has completed post graduate work at the University of Southern California and the University of California Los Angeles. His educa- tional background includes study in Applied Geology, Operations Research, MIS Computer Systems, Business Manage- ment, and Marketing Research. Mr. Johns' previous professional experience includes: Civil engineering field surveys, design, and construction inspection of major transportation, communication and industrial facilities; program design and implementation of computerized management information systems; and geotechnical management of recreational/residential/ commerical land development projects including Beverly Glen Estates, Westlake Village North and Diamond Bar. More recently, Mr. Johns has been active in advancing land use capability planning through the integration and application of technical physical, ecological and social science information to conceptual, master and general planning in rural and urban environments. His principal contribution in these fields has been the presentation and integration of technical data into planning procedure and methodology, including computer aided data manipulation and display systems. Prior to forming Envicom, Mr. Johns was president of Environmental Professional Associates, a holding company for three prominent California corporations specializing in civil engineering and city planning, economics, and the physical earth sciences. He also served as vice- president/director of a prominent southern California based firm specializing in geotechnical consulting services. Mr. Johns, a member of the Association of Engineering Geologists and the American Association for the Advancement of Science has guest lectured at numerous academic and professional events on faulting and earthquakes in southern California and the application of environmental sciences to city and county planning. envicom DONALD 0. ASQUITH, PhD. Biography Vice-President/Director of Physical Sciences Dr. Asquith received his B.S. degree in Geology from California Institute of Technology, his M.S. from the University of Kansas, and his PhD. from U.C.L.A. This educational background includes study and research in the fields of Soil Mechanics, Seismicity and Applied Geology. Dr. Asquith's previous professional experience has been in the field of petroleum exploration in the Rocky Mountain States, and research in the field of computer generated solutions and display of complex directional information and the reliability of computer-assisted analysis. More recently, Dr. Asquith has been active in the application of earth science information to land use capability and planning for a prominent southern California based consulting firm. His principal contribution in these fields have been the development of technical information presentation and display techniques. Dr. Asquith's most recent professional involvement has been in the general field of environmental inventory and analysis with management of individual projects in areas of earth slope stability, resource utilization and manage- ment, liquid waste disposal, industrial groundwater pollution, noise and air quality, and earthquake hazard analysis. Experience in these areas has led to a continu- ously deeper involvement in land use capability and environmental planning. Dr. Asquith has published papers in several geological journals, and has contributed to numerous articles and papers published or presented by others. He received the award for the best paper presented before the Wyoming Geological Association in 1965.
