SUBJECT: Carrillo Ranch Parks
As you know, the Planning Commission experienced
considerable difficulty in regard to parks when considering
the first increment of the Carrillo Ranch project. The
matter was continued to August 28th to allow staff and the
applicant to work out the problem. There does appear to be
some complicated legal problems involved in that solution.
It seems to me that it might be well to take
some steps to bring the applicant and the staff together
and arrive at a solution prior to the 28th. I would
appreciate being advised when you propose to accomplish
this in order to fit it into my schedule.
I have reviewed the Carrillo Ranch file and
it appears that there is no provision in that plan for
arriving at a solution to the park situation. Apparently
it was contemplated that this and other matters would be
taken care of at the specific plan step. This, of course,
adds to the importance of the determinations that are being
made on the first increment of the development.
