PROJECT NAME: Information Center Relocation and Temporary Storage
APPLICANT NAME: Kelly Land Company
Please describe fully the proposed project by application type. Include any details
necessary to adequately explain the scope and/or operation of the proposed project.
You may also include any background information and supporting statements regarding
the reasons for, or appropriateness of, the application. Use an addendum sheet if
necessary.
Description/Explanation:
The proposed project is a request for a Planning Commission
Determination involving the temporary relocation of the Aviara
Information Center onto Kelly Ranch.
The Aviara Information Center was constructed on Aviara Planning
Area 23 as a temporary facility. Its Conditional Use Permit allows its use in
Aviara only for a specific period of time. The building was constructed in a
manner that allows its ultimate disconnection into sections to accommodate
transport for installation elsewhere. The Information Center's present
location has been sold to The Brehm Companies, with a stipulation that the
structure be removed from the property by December 31, 1998.
The proposed temporary relocation site for the Information Center is
Area F of Kelly Ranch (see exhibit). The Information Center will be housed
temporarily on blocks or jacks until the Kelly Ranch Core Area EIR is
completed and the Information Center can be permanently placed on the
Area F site to serve as the home of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation.
