We propose to turn the loading areas on the north side of the building to 60 degree diagonal, at grade loading. As you can see by the plan, we have used a conservative 48 ft. truck turning radius and the circulation in and out of the loading areas is good. We also visited several buildings in Carlsbad that have a loading space that is not perpendicular to the circulation aisle. The addresses on these buildings are as follows: 5922 Farnsworth Court Koll Business Center Southeast corner of building 5858 Dryden Place (MI Building) 2728 Loker Avenue Carlsbad Oaks Business Center Although diagonal loading is not specifically mentioned in your standards, we feel the diagonal loading follows the intent of your guidelines, which is to provide proper loading and unloading circulation for industrial buildings. Diagonal loading is also common throughout San Diego County as a solution to irregular shaped lots and expensive land values requiring a more efficient circulation pattern. 6321 LA MESA BOULEVARD LA MESA CALIFORNIA 92041 - 619-697-7737 /- Please consider our solution and get back to me with feedback in order that we may proceed with our submittal for this projects Sincerely, Architects d'ville ton Gross A.I.A.
