Thank you for reviewing our project rapidly. We really
appreciate the extra effort.
We have and are familiar with Policy No. 19, Chapter 21.34.070,
but.,. we are trying something a little different and please
bear with us. The lunch areas in Carlsbad have always been
an afterthought by the Architect, with the least amount of
parking distance on the site. Our desire is to make a
conscience effort to design the lunch area into the architecture
and landscape. The lunch area is an excellent place to explore
the connection between nature and our built environment.
We have consciously connected our indoor eating area, second
floor balcony eating area and our outdoor eating area and
maximized the view. We wish you would consider this in your
review and allow us a little artistic license.
