SUBJECT: PIP 89-14 - Carlsbad Oaks East, Lot 25
The Planning Department has reviewed your latest submittal for PIP 89-14 and
determined that the proposed building materials are inadequate. Painted concrete
does not provide the quality of appearance afforded other materials such as aggregate
concrete or sandblasted concrete. An aggregrate type material provides some texture
and gives a richer look, thus enhancing the visual appearance of the building
elevations.
This decision is based on the need to upgrade the industrial development taking place
in the Carlsbad Oaks East Industrial Park. We are requiring that all current and future
projects in this industrial park provide higher quality architecture and building materials.
We believe that this is in the best interest of the property owners, tenants and the City.
It will provide the quality desired and lead to a more successful industrial park.
