Description/Explanation: The project is the expansion of the existing Callaway Golf Testing Facility located in the City of Carlsbad at the terminus of Dryden Place, south of Carlsbad Airport Road and east of the proposed Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course.The existing facility is 9.06 acres,which would be expanded by a 0.84-acre parcel that is adjacent to the western property boundary. An existing 30-foot high constructed berm at the eastern end of the existing testing facility would be recontoured and 24,000 cut and 21,000 export to level the expansion parcel to the same elevation as the existing testing facility. The expansion parcel currently consists of a portion of a previously graded and landscaped pad.The proposed expansion of the existing Callaway Golf Testing Facility would require the removal of 57 eucalyptus trees and 15 saplings on the parcel.Those trees will be replaced with 5-and 15-gallon oak and sycamore trees.
