HomeMy WebLinkAboutPIP 97-07; Newton Business Center; Planned Industrial Permit (PIP) (17)From the desk of: ROYCE B. RIGGAN, JR. 26 March 1998 Attached is a copy of my work sheets for the slope/ vegetation-type/area calculations. Given the inherent level of detail in the slope map, we (as you can tell form the various notes scattered on the drawings) adjusted the vegetation at the same level of detail. The computed areas for Southern Maritime Chaparral and Disturbed CSS on 25% or greater slopes are still over estimates, however. If we had gone back into the field to prepare this the areas involved would be reduced by more fine scale mapping of the vegetation, mapping consistent with the order of magnitude mapping of the slopes. We computed area the crude way - square counts - given the extremely small areas involved, the inherent inaccuracy in planimeters at that scale, and the fact that this is not a CAD file. The accuracy, however, exceeds the error factor in the underlying slope calculations. I [:\1652memo.003 \- t Rod ” I
