HomeMy WebLinkAboutPIP 97-07; Newton Business Center; Planned Industrial Permit (PIP) (9)June 10,1998 TO: CITY MANAGER FROM: DON RIDEOUT, PRINCIPAL PLANNER 4(d) PERMIT FOR NEWTON BUSINESS CENTER VIA @@OMMUNIP/ DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR I On May 6, 1998, the Planning Commission approved Planned Industrial Permit 97-07 for the Newton Business Center. The project involves impacts to 0.78 acres of low quality coastal sage scrub. Because the impact area is less than one acre and not occupied by the California gnatcatcher, the 4(d) permit can be approved administratively. Mitigation will consist of purchase of credits from the Manchester mitigation bank in Encinitas. Staff recommends that the 4(d) permit for Newton Business Center be approved and that 0.78 acres be subtracted from the City's 5% allocation. The remaining balance will be 15.27 acres as shown on the attachment.
