RE: PS 00-83 - PALOMAR HEIGHTS PLAZA SIGN PROGRAM
Dear Jackie:
Thank you for the prompt return of the proposed sign program for the Palomar Heights
Plaza. Please find below a few additional comments regarding the program.
1. I have discovered that Sign Type C (Logo) is intended to be considered as a wall
sign like Sign Types A and B. This would mean that Buildings 1, 5, and 6 which
are oriented toward Palomar Airport Road would have wall monumentation
available in one of three sign locations (A, B or C). Logos would only be allowed
in the C location or in conjunction with, or component of, Sign type A or B.
Please note that the maximum logo and letters heights are the same at 24 inches.
2. Please identify the Palomar Airport Road (south) elevation on drawings 18F, 19F,
and 20F as the “B” location on the program.
3. Please correct Drawing 14C/14E to 4C/14E.
4. I understand that Drawings 9D through 12 D are identical, but is there a way to
correct the buildings addresses to correspond to the actual building address? (i.e.
9D address is 5864)
5. Sign types E and F have the ability to have two lines of text. Presently the
program allows only one line of text. Please consider adding the flexibility to
accommodate two lines of text in the event it is desired in the future.
6. Sign type G is intended to be the minor identification wall signs for industrial or
office businesses that have a separate building entrance. The proposed location is
at the primary building entrance, which is not the intended use of the signs. The
signs are for the other building entrances only if those entrances serve as the main
entrance to a separate tenant.

7. The format of the program is excellent for reviewing the sign program but will be
awkward for the City to file and store the program because of its size. Is it
possible to get a reduced version or format of 11 by 17 or 81/2 x 11 once
approved?
With the above corrections made, the sign program would be approved. As before,
please revise the sign program and resubmit two copies of the plan back to me.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please call me at (760) 602-4613.
