Cucamonga Avenue Ontario, CA 91761 RE: PS 03-172 - CANNON COURT MINI MARTlGAS STATION The following items need to be corrected in order to approve your sign permit application: 1. The monument sign and building signs need to be modified so that they are the same color as the canopy signs. The red and blue colors do not comply with the Cannon Court Sign Program which specifies dark green, dark browMan, maroon, or blue/green sign colors. Additionally, the CommercialNisitor-Sewing Overlay Zone requires that signs must be designed to be compatible with the building finishes. In order to deviate from the approved colors, you would need to process an amendment to the sign program. This would require a public hearing before the Planning Commission, and staff would not recommend approval of the red/blue color proposal since it is inconsistent with the Overlay Zone. 2. The size of the monument sign (Sign “A“) should be shown as 30 sq. ft. The size and location are acceptable, however the color shall be modified as noted above. 3. The size and location of the wall signs (Signs “B” and “C”) are acceptable, however the color shall be modified as noted above. 4. A maximum of four signs, with a maximum total sign area of 40 sq. ft., may be allowed on the gas station canopy. Staff would recommend that you keep the Sign Option “D (flush- mounted on the column) and Sign “E” (projecting from the column). Please show the sq. ft. of each sign and include the total sign area in the sign application under “canopy - proposed sign area.” Staff would suggest incorporating the rounded corners into the canopy signs so that they are similar to the design of the ‘Westmart” signs. Please incorporate these changes and resubmit three copies of the plans so we may continue processing your sign permit request. If you have any questions, please contact me at 760-602- 4626.
