Enclosed are the necessary documents you will need in acqiuring the permits for the Red
Roof Inn in Carlsbad, CA.

0 Drawings for each of the three proposed elevations
Tab Sims , Director of Brand Identity, and Michael Sanyillan, architect for BSW
International, have had conversations with Mr. Van Lynch of the City of Carlsbad
planning Dept. Apparently, the agreement was that the existing Motel 6 signs on the west
and north -west elevations would be replaced with new Red Roof inn channel letter sets,
(see drawings enclosed). The existing monument sign would be removed, which would
allow a third 24” Red Roof Inn building letter set to be installed on the east / front
elevation, (see drawing enclosed).
NOTE: The 24” letter set will have remote LED 12Ov power supplies, the other two will
remain self-contained LED 12Ov power supplies.
Dana, please let me know once you have procurred the permits from the city.

Good Day Mr. Lynch
The following drawings are for the proposed signage to be located at Red Roof Inn, 6117 Paseo Del
Norte, Carlsbad, Ca. My understanding is that Tabs Sims, Director of Brand Identity and Michael
Sanydan, Architect for BSW International has been in communication with you as to what would be
allowed to replace the existing signage at Motel 6. They are replacing two 12’0” x 9’0” internally
illuminated single face wall signs facing the freeway with two sets of 46” internally illuminated
channel letters, copy “RFiD ROOF INN”, two sets of 8 ‘/4” flat cut acrylic letters, copy: “ACCOR
Hotels”. New signs are not to exceed the area of the existing signs or exceed 100 square feet. We
are removing the existing monument sign and replacing it with one set of internally illuminated
channel letters on the front building facia, (Hood Area) not to exceed 24” letter height
