At the time, we had asked that all signage criteria to be handed over. The Centerpoint Interior and Exterior Sign Program document dated 10/05/06 was not provided to us until just recently, two years later. During these two years, 2 building signs have been placed on Centerpoint Plaza, Colliers International and Security Business Bank. After just receiving the Centerpoint Interior and Exterior Sign Program document from Seth Shulberg with The Architectural Review Committee of the Carlsbad Research Center, we came to realize that Colliers International's signage has been placed in the wrong location (see Exhibit B, NE corner). Additionally, Wells Fargo Insurance would like to place a sign on the building, The permit application for Wells Fargo was rejected by The City of Carlsbad because the proposed location was not the same as the existing signage criteria that we didn't originally know about. Wells Fargo does not want the location as stated in the sign program, due to poor visibility. We are submitting to have Centerpoint Plaza's existing signage program amended to reflect the attached drawings marked as Exhibit B. Enclosed you will find: • Application for Review for Sign Permit • Check for $589 • Copy of approval letter from The Carlsbad Research Center to The Muller Company for Wells Fargo Insurance Services Sign • (3 sets) Exhibit A reflecting the currently approved signage locations • (3 sets) Exhibit B reflecting the proposed signage locations • (3 sets) Wells Fargo Insurance Services sign plans (3 pages) • (3 sets) Colliers International sign plans (2 pages) Thank you for your consideration. The applicant wishes to change the original location of two wall signs for visibility purposes (three wall signs have been approved for the building). The change reflected on the site plan is consistent with the sign ordinance in that the building elevation has more than 150 lineal feet (265 lineal feet), and the minimum spacing between wall signs along an elevation is more than the required 75 feet (155 feet). I have attached the proposed Centerpoint sign program for your review as well as the current sign program. Thank you. CHRIS SEXTON CS: J 20 February 2009 Ms. Kim Sabre Muller-Centerpoint LLC 5901 Priestly Drive Carlsbad, California 92008 Re: Lot 6 - Wells Fargo Insurance Services Second Sign Review Dear Ms. Sabre: The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) of the Carlsbad Research Center (CRC) has reviewed the sign plans proposed for Wells Fargo Insurance Services located at 5901 Priestly Drive. The proposed plans for a single monument sign and a single tenant identification plaque on an existing entry monument sign are consistent with the CRC Design Guidelines for signage and therefore are considered APPROVED. The ARC notes that with issuance of this approval the Centerpoint Building exhibits three wall signs which is the maximum number allowable under the Design Guidelines. Once you obtain a City of Carlsbad sign permit you may proceed with sign construction. Please forward a copy of the city sign permit to: Ms. Andrea Ferris Meissner Jacquet 5330 Carroll Canyon Road Ste 200 San Diego, CA 92121 Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or require additional information.
