Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed for potential issues by the Traffic Engineering Department, which will not allow signs to be approved over the counter. The proposed plan for a single monument sign is consistent with the CRC Design Guidelines and therefore the submitted plans are considered APPROVED. Sign construction may begin once a Sign Permit is obtained from the City of Carlsbad. Please forward a copy ofthe City sign permit to the CRC for our files. On a separate matter, the ARC requests that TaylorMade Golf remove the temporary banners installed in the parking lot in support of the U.S. Open. The CRC Design Guidelines and the City Sign Ordinance both prohibit banners, the CRC based on visual concerns and the City based on advertising concerns.
