for potential sight distance and visibility issues. Additional lnformation must supplement
this application showing how the proposed signage will not encroach into the public right-
of-way or present a traffic hazard. Page 3 of 4 illustrates an example for what would be

SITE PLAN REQUIREMENT FOR POLE, MONUMENT, AND FREESTANDING SIGN
APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) of the Carlsbad Research Center (CRC) has
reviewed the sign plans proposed for the building located at 2200 Faraday Avenue. The
proposed plans, for construction of a single multi-tenant monument sign with address numerals,
is consistent with the Design Guidelines of the CRC. Therefore the plans you submitted are
considered approved.
You may proceed with installation of the sign once you receive a Sign Permit fi·om the City of
Carlsbad. Upon receipt of the city sign permit, please forward a copy to:
