SITE PLAN REQUIREMENT FOR POLE, MONUMENT, AND FREESTANDING SIGN
APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is req~i'ed for all pole, monument. and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential. issues t,y the Transportation Department. which will not allow signs to be approved
owr the counter. Additional lime will be required for on-site inspection.

Relationship to streets: Signs shall be designed and located so as not to interfere with the
unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any
pedestrian, bicyclist or motor vehicle driver.
Sigiu Distance: No Sign or sign strueture shall be placed or constructed so that it impairs the sight
distance requirements.at any public or private street intersection or driveway.

Dear Ms. Ashford:
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) of the Carlsbad Research Center{CRC) has
completed its review of the sign plans submitted by Char Jaine Architectural. Signage on behalf
of your tenant at 2280 and 2282 Faraday Averiue on Lots 3-6 and 3-7 in the CRC. The ARC
notes that the applicant requests one wall sign per building and two tenant I.D. plaques on the
existing entl'y momunent.
The JJroposed plans for two wall signs and two-tenant I.D .. plaq1ies ate fully consistent with the
CRC Desig11 Guidelilies and therefore the ARC considers the plans APPROVED. You are free
to install the signs once you receive a City of Carlsbad sign permit. Please forward a copy of the
permit to:
