All plans submitted for sign permits/sign programs shall consist of a minimum of a site plan and
sign elevations containing the following information:
1. North arrow and scale.
2. Location of existing buildings or structures, parking areas, and vehicular access points to the
property.
3. Location of all existing and proposed signs for the property.
4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding sign(s).
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
C. Source of Illumination.
D. Proposed sign copy.
APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THREE (3) SETS OF SIGN/SITE PLANS, A COMPLETED
APPLICATION FORM, AND THE APPLICATION FEE.
The application must be submitted prior to 4:00 p.m. Average processing time: 2 weeks

**Prior to approval, all proposed pole, monument, and freestanding signs must be reviewed
for potential sight distance and visibility issues. Additional information must supplement
this application showing how the proposed signage will not encroach into the public right-
of-way or present a traffic hazard. Page 3 of 4 illustrates an example for what would be
required for such proposed signs.

SITE PLAN REQUIREMENT FOR POLE, MONUMENT, AND FREESTANDING SIGN
APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

Relationship to Streets: Signs shall be designed and located so as not to interfere with the
unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any
pedestrian, bicyclist or motor vehicle driver.
Sight Distance: No sign or sign structure shall be placed or constructed so that it impairs the sight
distance requirements at any public or private street intersection or driveway.

We are working with the new Samtec, who is moving into 2726 Loker Avenue, in Carlsbad Crossroads. They are
having us remove the Triton sign, patch and paint (Frank will supply us the paint), and then install the new Samiec
sign.
Can you please review the attached design proof to let us know your approval of the sign?

Also, we will need a letter of authorization to attain the permit from the City of Carlsbad. Attached is a previous
letter of approval, if you could send something similar?
Please let me know. We are working with a deadline to get the sign installed before the end of the month, so as
soon as you can approve, then we can get the permit (hopefully today or tomorrow.)

Thank you for the opportunity to quote the signage for Samiec.

Attached is the proof showing the dimensions of how the sign will fit on the 24" band at the top right hand corner
of the building. It will be fabricated from ½" thick acrylic, painted in the Pantone Orange 165 and Black, stud-
mounted to the building.
Our estimate includes the design time to recreate the vector artwork, as well as the necessary permitting. To get
started, we will need your approval on both the estimate and proof by responding "Approved" or signing the
attachments and sending back to us. To start fabrication, we will need 50% deposit.
The next steps are the landlord will need to approve the sign, as well as provide authorization for the City of
Carlsbad permit. (Note: The Permit Processing Fees will be added to the final invoice, and usually range around
$150-200 depending.) We can coordinate all the approvals.
Then fabrication can begin. Then the install includes removal of the existing Triton sign, patching & painting, and
install of new sign using bucket truck.
In order to get this job done by the end of the month, we will need your approval by end of day today. Then we
can prepare all the documents needed for approvals and permits. Next, we can install Jan. 26, 27, or 30. Which
one works best with what you had in mind?
