sign elevations containing the following information:
1. North arrow and scale.
2. Location of existing buildings or structures, parking areas, and vehicular access points to the
property.
3. Location of all existing and proposed signs for the property.
4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding sign(s).
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
C. Source of Illumination.
D. Proposed sign copy.
APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THREE (3) SETS OF SIGN/SITE PLANS, A COMPLETED
APPLICATION FORM, AND THE APPLICATION FEE.
The application must be submitted prior to 4:00 p.m. Average processing time: 2 weeks

for potential sight distance and visibility issues. Additional information must supplement
this application showing how the proposed signage will not encroach into the public right-
of-way or present a traffic hazard. Page 3 of 4 illustrates an example for what would be
required for such proposed signs.

SITE PLAN REQUIREMENT FOR POLE, MONUMENT, AND FREESTANDING SIGN
APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

Relationship to Streets: Signs shall be designed and located so as not to interfere with the
unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any
pedestrian, bicyclist or motor vehicle driver.
Sight Distance: No sign or sign structure shall be placed or constructed so that it impairs the sight

Dear Jessica:
Attached is the signage submittal for M. Sorrelle at La Costa Town Square marked as "Approved as Noted" with
the following notes and comments:
1. Prior to the start of any on-site work, Tenant and/or Tenant's sign contractor shall furnish the
following information to Landlord:
• Copy of the contractor's certificate of workers compensation and general liability insurance
naming Landlord, La Costa Town Center LLC, Terramar Retail Centers, LLC and The Prudential
Insurance Company of America as additional insured.
• Prior to the start of any sign installation a copy of the sign permit must be sent to Paul Mears at
pmears@trcretail.com
2. Halo-Lit letters must be spaced off of fa~ade at 1-1/2" as per sign criteria.
3. Installation will need to be coordinated with on-site Tenant Coordination Consultant. A minimum of
six inches must be kept from any wall edge transition (i.e. brick to stucco, brick to edge of storefront,
etc ... ) and demising walls.
4. All signage must be fully weatherproof and shall be constructed of premium-quality, weather
resistant materials. All illuminated signs shall be fabricated and installed in compliance with all
applicable building and electrical codes and shall bear an Underwriter's Laboratory (UL) label. No
exposed raceways, crossovers or conduits will be permitted. All cabinets, conductors, transformers
or other equipment related to lighting controls must be concealed from public view or accessibility
unless they are an integral part of the design. All permits for signs and installation will be obtained by
the Tenant, with a copy sent to the Landlord's Tenant Coordinator prior to installation.
5. The Tenant signs must meet all local sign code requirements and are the sole responsibility of the
Tenant.
6. Trucks must be substantial with outriggers. Installers must protect asphalt with plywood. Methods
of installation must be acceptable to on-site tenant coordination. No truck parking on sidewalks or
curbs is allowed. Trucks will not be permitted on decorative flat work. Removal and replacement of
awnings for installation at Tenant's expense.
7. Tenant's sign contractor is responsible for pulling all permits, including electrical, making sure all
permits are signed off by jurisdictional authorities
8. Use a minimum of½" stand off pins for medallion on parking lot side of building.
