5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
C. Source of Illumination.
D. Proposed sign copy.

for potential sight distance and visibility issues. Additional information must supplement
this application showing how the proposed signage will not encroach into the public right-
of-way or present a traffic hazard. Page 3 of 4 illustrates an example for what would be

SITE PLAN REQUIREMENT FOR POLE, MONUMENT, AND FREESTANDING SIGN
APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any

Hi PJ & Linda,
Hope you're doing well.
We went to the City of Carlsbad for the sign permit, but they said the maximum sign area is 1 sf per linear sf.
The linear sf is 31.5, and so the sign area needs to be 31.5 or under.
Attached are revised drawings, showing the sign at 20" tall (instead of 24" tall).
We will return with these drawings, per your approval.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Additionally, the cost will be lowered per the smaller sign, so we'll calculate that as well.

Thanks Carrie looks good I'll stamp it approved as noted and that should be all you need to submit for permit to
the city. No letter needed.
PJ just to confirm your adding uplighting at the top of the trellis to illuminate the letter correct?
That way you're still complying with criteria and I can approve this as an externally illuminated sign.

part of the storefront. Please let us know any changes. Or respond "Approved."
Next, we will need a letter of authorization on Brookfield letterhead sent to us via email, so we can apply for the permit
with the City of Carlsbad -via appointment.
